About this position

PeopleMetrics is growing and we’re looking for a QA Engineer to join our team! The QA role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before feature releases to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs. The primary responsibility of the QA Engineer is to prevent defects. They will do this by designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.

Ensure PeopleMetrics software is high quality following current industry standard methods and practices. Take initiatives and work independently to meet organizational priorities; plan and manage test activities, and test cases; manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly; works on an agile / scrum team, collaborating with the dev team, ops team and CX team.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Test completed development tickets. Document any issues with steps needed to recreate and communicate findings to the development team.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases - both automated and manual
  • Improve and execute the existing test scripts
  • Perform thorough regression testing across browsers both prior to releases and after bug resolution. Identify, record, document and track bugs

Skills Required:

  • Excellent and clear written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated work experience in Quality Assurance or equivalent skill/discipline
    • Experience in automation of QA testing & test cases
    • Experience working in online ticketing systems such as JIRA or Zendesk
  • Nice to have: Experience and / or competence in any of the following skills are desired
    • Automated selenium-based web testing
    • Python programming language
    • sql queries and relational databases
    • nosql queries and document (mongodb) databases

  • Selenium test base automation
  • Python programing language
  • SQL and relational database concepts and query language
  • Mongodb (nosql) database concepts and query language

Basic position information:

  • Full time position
  • Contract or contract to hire are possible
