CharterOak State College's Competitive Positioning Evalution

Challenge
CharterOak State College saw the continuing growth of online education and distance learning and wanted to understand current and predicted employment and industry trends in order to identify the programming and directions it should plan for its future student base, as well as what prospective students were seeking in course and programs to fulfill their goals.
Approach
PeopleMetrics conducted interviews with workforce development professionals to identify workforce trends impacting adult learnings and to recommend new programs that focus on providing the course mix that will be of interest to online students.
We also implemented an online survey of prospective students to understand what they seek and what they value in their educational journey.
Outcome
CharterOak State College used the results from our interviews and surveys to develop a competitive positioning evaluation and recommendations for new programs that are responsive to the "new economy."
These new program recommendations were used to pique the interest of online students, both today and in the future, making CharterOak a key player in the future of online learning.
