Penn State University was looking for new ways to approach degree programs for career-focused professionals.
Approach
PeopleMetrics designed a study to identify program needs by understanding current industry trends, predicted workplace needs, and target market interest in various program ideas.
Our study was a multi-phased approach, involving a substantive environmental scan with discussions with key thought leaders to understand the state of the industry, a survey of employers to understand their current and future workforce needs, and an initial quantitative assessment of prospective students to determine which types of degrees and programs are of most value.
Outcome
Penn State used the result of our study to plan and develop degree programs for both traditional and online delivery.
Their programming committee was also able to spearhead new initiatives across many disciplines and departments, including online course work, multi-disciplinary degree programs, and more.
